The Lasfit Custom PRO LED H11 Low Beam Headlights (Updated Model) – Install, Review, & Comparison to the Old Version

LASFIT has been a trusted manufacturer of LED lighting upgrades for many 4Runner owners. They manufacture custom H11 low beam bulbs for the 4Runner which includes a custom replacement dust cover. The dust cover houses a secondary fan to dissipate heat generated by the LEDs that helps extend the life of the chips.

I’ve been running the original Lastfit Custom Pro LED H11 for almost three years now and never had any issues with the performance (other than wanting a truer white output). With the release of an updated version, I had to check them out.

Updated 2022-2023 Version

The original Custom Pro LED headlights had similar specs with 50-watts/bulb. That was good for an output of 5,000 lumens per bulb or 10,000 lumens total for the pair, with a color output of 6,000k (pure white).

However, the original design still had a blueish tint, and the beam pattern was more of an upside-down letter “D”. The 2022 updated version of these lights is truer to the “pure white” color output, and the beam pattern has been vastly improved to provide better light dispersion and clear cut-off line.

The latest version of the LASFIT Custom Pro H11 has an improved ball-bearing fan system, which uses less power for the fans. This should provide a longer lifespan beyond the two-year warranty. There have been some slight changes to the bulb design to provide a better beam pattern, as well as the chips have been upgraded with a truer white 6000k output.

The bulbs come with OEM replacement dust covers that seal out dust, and dissipate heat from the headlight housing.

Installation

You may find it easier to remove the battery altogether on the driver’s side to give you more room to work, but it’s not a necessity. You’ll need a 10mm socket and ratchet to remove the battery cables from the battery terminals. Always remove the positive side first.

Tools Needed:

  • Small zip ties
  • Small pair of cutters to trim zip ties (optional)
  • 10mm socket & ratchet (should you choose to remove the battery for more clearance)

Step 1. Uninstall Existing Low Beam Bulbs

First, you’ll need to remove your current headlight bulbs. Remove the OEM dust covers by twisting them counterclockwise. Then, unplug the connector by lifting the tab to separate the connector.

Finally, remove the current bulb by twisting it counterclockwise.

Step 2. Install LASFIT Custom Pro LED H11

The LASFIT bulbs are a true plug-and-play setup for the 2014-2020 Toyota 4Runner. This means there’s no need for a ballast unlike some other aftermarket LED & HID lights.

Simply install the bulb into the headlight socket and twist it clockwise. The units are labeled for the driver’s side (DRV) and passenger side (PASS), respectively.

Note: The easiest way to get the new LEDs to seal is to use your thumb and apply pressure toward the headlight housing while twisting the bulb into the locked position.

Take your time as it is a tight fit. Once you have it locked in place, connect the dust cover harness to the bulb and then connect the other end to the vehicle’s factory connector.

Step 3. Test The New Lights

Before installing the dust cover, you’ll want to check that the new lights turn on. If they don’t, turn the connector 180 degrees and try again.

Once you’ve ensured that they work, you should be ready to install the dust cap. Tuck the wires around the headlight bulb so as not to block the fan. Then, twist the dust cover clockwise, ensuring the sticker indicates the fan’s exhaust port is pointing downward.

The bulb orientation is preset from the factory for the 4Runner’s projector housing and shouldn’t need any adjustment. However, LASFIT does include a small Allen wrench should you need to make adjustments.

Output Comparison

You can see that the new model has a wider and more focused beam pattern, with a much better cutoff line.

Here you can see the wider pattern and more true 6000k color temperature of the new bulbs.

Long Term Review

After having the original Custom Pro H11s installed for a little over two and a half years, I had no issues with flickering, nor did I get moisture or dust in the headlight housings. In the picture above, you’ll see some dust and mud on the outside of the dust cover housings.

However, none of it made its way inside the housing. The fans still spin freely and are in great shape even after two and a half years of use and many trails.

Final Thoughts

If you’re still using the OEM Halogen bulbs, the LASFIT Custom Pro LED H11 are an absolute must-have upgrade that greatly increases your safety when driving at night. They also provide a modern look to your vehicle.

They come with a two-year warranty, and LASFIT has great customer service should you have any issues. I like their products so much, that I have upgraded my other exterior OEM bulbs with LASFIT LEDs and utilize their HP 4,000 lumen 3-inch pod lights as ditch lights.

LASFIT  also has an entire lineup of vehicle accessories such as custom-fit floor mats and phone chargers available. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these to a friend. In fact, I’ve added their other LED’s to my wife’s vehicle and several friends’ vehicles as well.

Now, get out there and conquer the night with your new LED headlights!
